What do our Hosts think?

"It's been amazing"

My name is Renu Sharma and I’m an English Teacher by profession. I started hosting students in March 2019 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

It’s been a great way to meet students from various countries around Europe such as Germany, Holland, France and Czech Republic. It has also given me an opportunity to interact with new students every week who are keen to learn about England, its culture and the language.

It feels great to have these students leave the UK with a great impression of the country, having made memories for life. Our day normally consists of eating breakfast and dinner together and then spending the evening playing language games.

It’s been amazing and I can’t recommend it enough

"Still keep in Contact"

My Name is Mo and I have a husband called Dave, and two children Jake age 12 and Ethan aged 10. We have been hosting children for just over a year, that are dutch, french, german and czech.

We as a family really enjoy hosting the children, as its a great way to learn about new country, and cultures within these countries. My children are learning languages at school and finds this a good way to not only learn new words but how to pronounce them the correct way.

We as a family have meet wonderful students, and teachers and its been a pleasure to welcome them into our home and family. We are still in contact with some of our students, and they message my boys and play online games with them. having great conversations at the same time.

"We play games & craft"

I was very nervous at first and the night before my first students arrived wondered what was to come. I really wanted my visitors to feel at home, that they could treat me like their 'HOST MUM' and I treat them as my own children. I can truly say, this year has been so much fun.

Keeping my students happy and looked after was so rewarding and I get so much thanks back from them too. We play games, we craft, we go for evening walks by the riverside and when I can, mix with other host families so the kids can just have some fun together. I was worried about what they will or won't eat, but I found them much the same as our kids, pizza, pasta and some of my favourite home cooked meals went down really well.

Lisa and her staff are amazing and supportive.

"We Love Hosting"

We love hosting foreign school students as we enojoy meeting people from different countries and learning about other cultures.  It is ideal for us as we’ve got a spare room, work locally and have a young child who loves entertaining our young guests.

We have lots of fun in the evenings playing games and chatting over dinner.
